In Memory of Calvin Blair

February 25, 1935 - December 28, 2021

Calvin Q. Blair, age 86, of Winter, WI, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Calvin “Cal” Quentin Blair was born February 25, 1935 in Rice Lake, WI, the son of Milton and Margaret (Lemon) Blair, the youngest of four children.

The family moved to Winter, WI when he was six years old, where they began farming. On June 23, 1956 Cal married the love of his life, Susan Jurecki and they celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. Together they had six children, twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Cal lived most of his life in Winter where he was an active part of the community, including being a long-term member of the First Presbyterian Church, a volunteer Fire Department member and served as a Trustee on the Village Board. A gifted storyteller, his stories about life in the northwoods of Wisconsin were bountiful and would impart wisdom and humor to all that would listen. He made friends easily and would always help anyone in need. Cal was a nature lover, enjoyed watching westerns and the Rural Channel from his favorite recliner, loved puttering around in his garage and affectionately teasing his wife and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by family, friends and community.

He is survived by his wife Susan; five children - Sandra (Jerry Kasch) Blair-Kasch, Garry (Amy) Blair, Brian (Deb) Blair, Lori (Robert Hill) Blair-Hill, Carmen (Justin Wesser) Blair-Wesser; nineteen grandchildren (Jenilee, Sheri, Tandra, Calvin “CJ”, Clint, Albert, Megan, Alicia, Nikki, Savannah, Jasmine, Mikayla, Deven, Cuinn, Ariana, Robert, Sophia, Elaina and Madeline); and three great grandchildren (Kylah, Mireya and Vienna).

Cal was preceded in death by his son Kevin, his grandson Kevin Michael, his parents and three sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
