Carlin Martin Loomis, 79, Winter, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Carlin was born on October 27, 1946 in Mondovi, WI to Donald and Genevieve (Sullivan) Loomis. He graduated from Eleva Strum High School in 1964. Carlin married Lannys Austin in 1965. Together they had two sons, Todd and Troy.

Carlin grew up on a farm and enjoyed that time of his life. He worked for Uniroyal tires for 22 years. He also drove truck and worked for Badger Window in Eau Claire for many years. He met Sharon Gullicksrud later in life and they had many years together before she passed in 2015.

Carlin enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing when the boys were younger. This love of the outdoors led Carlin to have a retreat to go to in Winter that later became his home. Growing up on the farm gave him a skill of tinkering that would keep him busy as the years passed.

He is survived by his children Todd (Jill) Loomis, Belle Plaine, IA, Troy (Nikki Paul) Loomis, Winter; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings Gary (Nancy) Loomis, Des Moines, IA, Wendy Fitch, Milwaukee, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, partner Sharon Gullicksrud, sisters Iris and Kay.

A private burial will take place in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI.
