
In Memory of Carol L. Hubin
Carol L. Hubin, age 94, of Shell Lake, passed peacefully on May 22nd, 2026 at Glenview Assisted Living in Shell Lake, Wisconsin.
Carol was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 25, 1931. She later moved to Springbrook, where she met her husband, Dale Hubin. On November 25th 1961, they were united in marriage and made their home on the family farm east of Shell Lake on Highway B, where they built a life together and raised their three children and later 2 grandsons after their daughter, Kathryn’s passing.
Carol had a strong commitment to her community and found great joy in volunteering. She spent many summers at the Washburn County Historical Museum in Springbrook and dedicated many years to the Shell Lake Elementary School after-school program. She was also a faithful member of the Shell Lake United Methodist Church.
An avid lover of plants and flowers, Carol took great pride in her beautiful indoor collection, which reflected her patience and care. She also enjoyed spending her time crafting, painting, and coloring detailed prints. These creative pursuits brought her much happiness, and she loved sharing her work with family and friends. She also greatly enjoyed her time quilting, playing rummikub, and wii bowling at the senior center.
Carol is survived by her children, Roberta of Shell Lake and John (Missy) of Walnut Cove, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Brandon (Jenna) of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Dylan (Erica) of Shell Lake, Wisconsin, Jordyn (Bailey) of Sartell, Minnesota, and Wyatt (Gretchen) of Pardeeville, Wisconsin; and six great-grandchildren. As well as Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her daughter, Kathryn, granddaughter, Summer, parents, Arnold and Mary Adelaide, and sister, Leslie.
Carol will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and community.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
