In Memory of Carole K. Humann


December 2, 1935 - October 18, 2022

Carole Humann, age 86, of Hayward, WI passed peacefully Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in Hayward hospital.

Carole Katherine was born December 2, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois.

The daughter of Robert and Audrey (Parker) Neuenfeldt. She was raised in Chicago, graduating from Immaculata HS. On June 27, 1953 Carole was joined in marriage to Donald L. Humann at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Chicago, IL.

In 1958 they moved their family to McHenry, IL where Carole was a busy mother raising 5 daughters. Once her youngest began school, Carole began work as a school cook. She also wrote a neighborhood column for the McHenry Plaindealer, later taking a full-time job with them. In 1987 Carole and Don moved to Hayward, WI where she worked at Peoples National Bank. Carole finished her working career at WalMart retiring at age 81. Carole was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family. She was an active member of Moose Lodge 691 and also St. Francis Solanus Mission Church. She was also part of the Fishing Has No Boundaries and served her communities in the Townships of McHenry and Hunter. Carole loved to make connections with people and share her wicked sense of humor.

Carole is survived by her husband of 69 years, Don; five daughters, Catherine (John) Crum of New Port Richey, FL, Donna (Bob) Dobbertin of Johnsburg, IL, Mary Watkins of Seal Beach, CA, Meg (Mark) Redshaw of Victoria, MN, and Barbara (Jim) Douglas of Batavia, IL; sixteen grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one brother Bill Neuenfeldt of Garden Grove, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Hart and Susan Schwaba.

A memorial service celebrating Carole’s life will be held at the Hayward Funeral Home (Bratley-Nelson) beginning at noon, Saturday, October 22, 2022, with a service at 1 pm and food and fellowship to follow until 4 pm.
