In Memory of Charles "Chuck" A. Hutton


April 20, 1935 - November 21, 2025

Charles (Chuck) Alvin Hutton, age 90, of Amery, WI, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, at Osceola Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 20, 1935, in Northfield, MN.

Chuck graduated from Farmington High School in 1954, where he was one of fifty-four students in his class. He married Gloria Jean Baker of Northfield, MN, on August 11, 1962. In 1966, Chuck and Gloria moved to Wisconsin, where they built their life and raised their family.

He served in the United States Army from December 10, 1954, to December 8, 1956, and was a proud member of American Legion Post 143 in St. Croix Falls, WI. He was also a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Amery, WI.

Over the years, Chuck worked at Johnson Feed Mill and later at Byron Dresser Trap Rock. He spent much of his life farming and had a deep passion for agriculture. He also had a true affinity for John Deere equipment and would often say with a smile, “Nothing runs like a Deere.” He was known for his hard work, his steady faithfulness, and his beautiful singing voice.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Hutton; his brothers, Herbert Hutton and Merrill Hutton; and his sister, Frances Danielson.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Hutton; his children, Cathy (Dave) Cook and Mark (Denise) Hutton; his grandchildren, Samantha Cook, Amos Hutton, and Cyrus Hutton; and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Osceola Medical Center for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Chuck. They also offer sincere thanks to the Allied Fire Department First Responders for their dedication, professionalism, and the extraordinary support they provided during his time of need.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Grandstrand Funeral Home, (941 State Road 35) in Osceola and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church (1578 85th Avenue) Amery, WI. A luncheon will follow at the church.

Burial will take place at a later date at Red Rose Cemetery in Northfield, MN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 143, or a charity of your choice.
