In Memory of Charles J. Turner

April 28, 1933 - May 24, 2025

Charles Joseph Turner, of Centuria, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Luck, Wisconsin. Charles (Charlie) was born on April 28, 1933, in Luck to Charles E. and Margaret C. Turner. Charlie attended the South Milltown School from grades 1-8, then attended Milltown High School and graduated in 1951. He met Marion Swanson on a blind date, fell in love and married on August 21, 1954. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last August.

Charlie was raised on the family farm near Centuria. As a lifelong resident, he proudly owned and operated the Turner farm which has been in the Turner family since 1863. Beyond the farm, he served on the Milltown town board and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved a good game of cards and was known as a skilled, strategic (and very competitive) player — never one to let you win too easily. A devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather and great-grandfather, he leaves behind a legacy rooted in faith, family, farming — and a well-played hand of cards. He loved telling jokes, was an entertaining storyteller and had a hearty laugh that would fill the room.

Charlie is survived by his children: Cheryl Connolly and her husband Pat, Charlie Turner and his wife Lorraine, Jeff Turner and his wife Sue, Craig Turner and his wife Kristine, Karen Fjorden and her friend Bruce Rowe, and Maggie Ciak and her husband Bob, along with 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Marion (who passed away in October 2024), parents Charles E. and Margaret C. Turner; sisters: Eileen, Felicia, and Margaret Mary; along with grandson Jacob Turner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin.

The family would like to thank the United Pioneer Home and Adoray Hospice for their loving care.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 1:00 pm, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation 2 hours prior to the service from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the Church. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery on the family burial spot following the luncheon.
