In Memory of Charles S. Marsh
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles S. Marsh on June 16, 2026 at age 70. He was born on March 20, 1956 to Robert and Carol (Hoffman) Marsh, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. He graduated high school from Rhinelander,Wi. Charlie attended College in Eau Claire, where he met the love of his life and wife of 48 years, Doreen.
Charlie and Doreen got married on April 22, 1978 and soon after, moved to Birchwood, WI, where they built a beautiful life together. Charlie was devoted to his career, his wife and their four children.
Charlie loved the life he built for his family and he never let a day go by without making them feel loved. He was known for his humor, generosity, his love for the outdoors and his steady presence. He created a home where everyone felt welcomed, including their 25 foreign exchange students and the friends of his children, whom he always treated as his own. He found joy in fishing trips, hunting trips to his cabin, Sunday family dinners, cooking, sports, watching the Brewers and Packers, woodworking, playing euchre and cribbage and sharing his life experiences.
Above all, Charlie cherished his family. He was a proud father, husband and grandfather who found the greatest happiness in the time spent with his family. He had a special place in his heart for his nine grandchildren, who he loved unconditionally. He made each one of them feel so special and he took the time to make sure he built a bond with each of them that they will hold on to forever.
It brought Charlie such joy watching his children and grandchildren play sports and do all the things they loved. All he wanted for every person that he met was for them to be happy and successful, and if he could help make that happen, he would figure out a way.
He leaves behind his wife, Doreen (Byrnes) Marsh, his four children; Chad Marsh, Nicole Saastad (Jason Saastad), Cassandra Stoeklen (Shane Stoeklen) and Alison VanderBent (Shayne VanderBent); his 9 amazing grandchildren; Gracianna, Blake, Brynnlee, Collin, Ashton, Kaislynn, Ayden, Quinton and Bryson; his sister; Elizabeth Marquardt (Bill Marquardt); his 3 brothers; John Marsh (Joanne), James Marsh (Julie), and David Marsh (Sheryl) and his brother in-law John Neuman; his mother and father in-law Robert and Mary Peiffer; in-laws; Sandy Mitchell, Scott and Diana Byrnes, Tom Pearson, Pam and Gary Sirinek, Rob and Laurie Peiffer; many nieces and nephews, cousins; 25 Foreign Exchange Students and a wide circle of friends.
