In Memory of Charles T. "Chuck" Clark
Charles T. (Thomas) Clark, age 91, passed away on Saturday August 23, 2025, at the Amery Hospital of natural causes.
Charles T. Clark was born on January 20, 1934, in Clear Lake, WI, the son of Oscar Alfred Clark and Theresa Christina Clark (Thomas). He grew up and spent his entire life in his beloved Clear Lake (the “Athens” of the north). He was baptized, confirmed, a lifelong member, and served as senior warden of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Clear Lake. He married the love of his life Ardeth Arlene Dold on July 25, 1952, making their home in Clear Lake. His beloved Ardeth passed away on June 3, 2015. They raised four children, Mary, Thomas, John, and Charles.
Charles T. worked and retired from the Andersen Windows Corporation. Charles T. was a very active member of the Clear Lake community serving on the village board and library board. He also donated his time for many years to supervise open basketball at Clear Lake High School on Saturday mornings. Along with his wife Ardeth and others, he was instrumental in starting the Clear Lake Area Museum. He and Ardeth started the Clear Lake Chronicle from scratch so there would be a local newspaper to cover/record local history including Clear Lake school events.
Charles T. and Ardeth enjoyed travel and took many trips in the United States and abroad including trips to England, Germany, Switzerland, and Greece along with taking numerous Buckley Baseball Tours.
Charles T. was a proud lifelong Democrat. His passions were his family, church, history, sports (especially baseball), and fiercely promoting Clear Lake including its two favorite sons Burleigh A. Grimes and Gaylord A. Nelson. His favorite sports teams were Clear Lake High School, the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and his beloved Cleveland Indians (Guardians). One of his favorite sayings was, “You’re either from Clear Lake or you want to be.”
Charles T. lived in the same house for 85 plus years, was married for 63 years, was retired for longer than he worked, enjoyed great health until recently, and had many great friends. His family would like to thank all his friends for their help, especially in the past few years. He truly lived a blessed, full, and wonderful life.
