Claire Theresa Berschneider Age 97, of Haugen, WI died Sunday, January 30, 2022 in Eau Claire, WI.

She was born on November 15, 1924 in Rice Lake to Joseph and Valeda (Surette) Bilodeau.

Claire graduated from Rice Lake High School and was married to Wallace “Wally” Berschneider on August 26, 1952 in Rice Lake. Claire worked as a cashier/clerk for The Home Store and the grocery store in Haugen and custodian for Haugen school. Wally and Claire were caretakers of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and she enjoyed working funeral lunches and church dinners. Claire was Haugen’s town clerk for over 25 years.

She is survived by 4 sons, Gary Berschneider, Barry Berschneider, Dennis (Kathy) Berschneider and Bob Berschneider; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace “Wally” Berschneider; 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Grace Ward and Margaret Bilodeau; 3 brothers, Maurice, Paul and Francis Bilodeau.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1PM Monday, February 7, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Haugen, Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake are handling the services.
