In Memory of Clarence A. Wicken, Jr.


August 23, 1952 - August 8, 2025

Clarence Allen Wicken, Jr., age 72, of the Town of Sioux Creek, rural Chetek, WI died Friday, August 8th, 2025 at his home. He was born August 23rd, 1952 to Clarence & Eldora (Deskin) Wicken in Menomonie. He graduated from Barron High School & on May 23rd, 1975, he was married to Jane Burling at New Scandinavia Lutheran Church in the Town of Maple Grove. Along with many years of dairy farming, he held many different jobs throughout the years. He hauled can milk while still in school & later hauled bulk milk. He worked at the Poskin & Almena Feed Mills, the Barron MLP Sales Barn & logged for many years. Clarence enjoyed going to Horse Pulls, cooking the “Wicken Finger Licken Chicken”, hunting, fishing & running combine. He could often be found having breakfast at the Sand Creek Café or drinking coffee & B.S.ing at the “Office” (Sand Creek Cenex). Clarence was a hard worker & very determined. He was a very giving & honest man who would always speak his mind. A proud accomplishment of his was earning top herd on milk production for his rolling herd average in Barron County.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters & 1 brother. He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Jane, his children: Winnie (Adam) LaGesse, Ann Wicken, Kent Wicken & Brent (Barb) Wicken, grandchildren: Ben, Brandon & Dawson (Katie) Wicken, a sister: Lois (Scot) Arnold, as well as great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23rd at New Scandinavia Lutheran Church in the Town of Maple Grove, rural Dallas, with Revs. Sara Feld & Ralph Marquardt officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at a later date in the church cemetery.
