In Memory of Clyde Allen

April 26, 1938 - August 25, 2019

Clyde Larry Allen, 81, of Milltown, WI passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 25, 2019 at Regions Hospital after suffering a stroke.

Clyde was born on April 26, 1938 in Paris, Tennessee to James and Lissie Allen.

His family moved to Chicago, IL. After high school Clyde pursued a career as a machinist working in Chicago for a number of years. While working on the cargo ships on the Great Lakes, he met Lucille Brown, they wed on October 25, 1958. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage and three beautiful children. They traveled early in their marriage living in a number of states until 1965 when Milltown, WI became home where they raised a family and pursued many adventures.

Clyde was a busy man to say the least, an entrepreneur of sorts, a man of many talents, many ambitions, and much love.

Over the years Clyde worked driving semi across the U.S. and enjoyed seeing the country. His creative passions were evident as he began new adventures, like building air hockey machines, whiskey barrel furniture, and even three wheeled motor trikes.

Clyde enjoyed: classic cars, country music, roller skating (in his younger years), playing the guitar, harmonica and ukulele, collecting kaleidoscopes, writing songs, and just “tinkering” as he would say. He was always fixing something for someone. Whenever he got the chance, they would get in the car or take a cycle ride, they enjoyed visiting family and friends.

Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Lucy and their three children, Jeff Allen (Nicole), Julie Christian (Doyle), and Brenda Allen; grandchildren, Renee Johnson (Aaron), Mitchell Tromberg (Amy), Justin Allen (Billy Jo), Cody Tromberg (Melyssa), Michelle Jorgensen; great-grandchildren, Madisyn and Isabel; sister-in-law, Betty Sislo; many extended family members and caring friends.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, James and Lissie Allen; in-laws, George and Gertrude Brown; brothers, Cecil and Fred; and son-in-law, Bruce C. Tromberg.

Clyde’s warmth, compassion, humor and love will be greatly missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Luck on Friday, September 13th from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Private family burial.

You are invited to leave condolences, memories and photos at www.rowefh.com . Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home,
