Connie Dee Madsen of Amery passed away on March 4th, 2026. She was 75.

Connie was born December 20th, 1950 in Detroit, MI. She was the third child of Mary Lee (nee Mabry) and Earl Olson. She was raised in Taylor’s Falls, MN by foster parents Virginia and George Hemquist. She later made her home in Amery where she raised her children: Sarah, Kelly and Rory.

Over the years, Connie shared her home with many cats. She loved them all and often found comfort and companionship with them. She was an avid gardener and crossword puzzle enthusiast.

Connie’s life was not without its challenges. She faced struggles that shaped her path, and at times, created distance with her family. Her family takes comfort in believing that Connie is no longer suffering-that she has found peace, healing and rest.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and foster parents; brother, Larry; sister, Linda, and special friend Ted Miller.

In her memory, the family encourages compassion for those facing personal struggles and support for those working towards healing.
