Daniel John Labbe, 74, of Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born January 5, 1952, to Ligore (Gary) and Meredith (Briggs) Labbe.

Dan was raised in Cumberland and later graduated from Cumberland High School in 1970. He began working for Stokley’s just out of high school and also worked at Grouchy’s Bar in 1982. In October of 1972, he married Deb Nickell. He was a loving father to his three children, Derek & Jennifer Labbe and Dani Bents.

In 1982, he began his own business, Labbe’s Petroleum, and was dedicated to his work until he retired in 2022.

He enjoyed having coffee at his shop with anybody that wanted to stop by, hosting “Dan’s Daycare” events for his grandchildren, fiddling with any project imaginable, fixing anything that was broken and buying an unreasonable amount of hit & miss engines from auctions to keep himself busy during retirement.

Dan is survived by his wife Deb; three children - Derek Labbe, Jenny (Chris) Germany and Dani (Conor) Erb; eight grandchildren - Justice, Josiah, Micah, Lincoln, Crew, Avonlea, Ridge and Selah; brother Dave (Vickie) Labbe; sister Ginger Crotteau, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom, sister Joyce, and many other family members and friends.

Dan will always be remembered by his family and friends as a generous, kind, devoted and loving man who was always eager to help anyone in need. Words could never express how deeply he will be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hope Community Church in Cumberland at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2026, with Pastor Paul Green officiating. Visitation will be for 2 hours prior to the service.
