In Memory of Daniel Linehan


April 1, 1946 - June 4, 2021

Daniel Michael Linehan, 75, of Luck, Wisconsin, unexpectedly passed away on June 4, 2021 at his home.

He was born to parents Edward Lee Linehan Sr. and Hansine Kristine (Stone) Linehan, on April 1st, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota on his mother’s 29th birthday.

He graduated from North Branch High School in 1964. He went on to become an airplane mechanic at United States Air Force from 1964-1968.

He enjoyed hunting, traveling and spending time with family. In 1983, Daniel was honored with the title of The Deer Slayer after a hunting trip to South Dakota with the brother of his heart, Jerome Kettner.

Daniel met Janet (Weisbrod) Linehan in 1961 where they lived across the street from each other in Sunrise, Minnesota. They attended the same school, and started dating in 1968 after Dan returned from serving during the Vietnam War. They were married on March 4, 1969 in Milbank, South Dakota. Together they raised 3 children: Kristine, Patricia and Daniel.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet Linehan; daughter Kristi (Wayne) Johnson, daughter Patti (Linehan) Smith, son Daniel (Emily) Linehan, 10 grandchildren (Thomas, Bryan, Michael, Kayla, Justin, Alexander, Cody, Joseph, Nicole and Christine), 12 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends and his favorite granddog Cooper .

He was preceded in death by father Edward Lee Linehan Sr., mother Hansine Kristine (Stone) Linehan, brother Edward Lee Linehan Jr., and sister Patricia (Linehan) Edberg.

The family has entrusted Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria, WI with the arrangements.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 12th at 2pm with a Time of Remembrance of his life at 3pm at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at the home of Daniel and Janet Linehan
