Darlene (Dar) Jungmann, age 88, of Clear Lake, WI, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born Darlene Audrey Hawkins on March 26, 1937, in Stillwater, MN. She was the cherished daughter of Fred and Ruth Hawkins. Dar grew up in North St. Paul, MN and graduated from North St. Paul High School in 1955. In 1954, she met the love of her life, John (Jack) Jungmann, and they married on February 2, 1957, at the Washington County Courthouse. Together they built a life in North St. Paul, raising five children: Debbie, Kathi, Jeff, Ron, and Brenda.

While raising her family, Dar was deeply involved in her community. She attended church regularly and became a dedicated member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 39. For many years, she worked full-time at Polar Plastics in North St. Paul.

In 1976, Dar and Jack moved their family to Clear Lake, WI. There, they owned and operated the Corner Bar until 1980, making lasting connections and countless memories. After selling the bar, Dar held many service-related jobs. She worked as a cook, bartender, and assistant manager at the local convenience store. Later, she retired as a greeting specialist at St. Croix Casino in Turtle Lake.

Dar was known for her warmth and generosity, always welcoming friends and neighbors with a smile. Her dedication to family and community left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She found joy in simple pleasures—cooking, canning, playing bingo, and solving word search puzzles. She cherished winters spent at their place in Lakeland, FL, and summer campfires at Camp Brigadoon Campground in Cumberland, WI.

Dar will be sorely missed by her loving family and countless friends whose lives she touched along the way.

Memorial Service at 5 pm on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, WI.

Visitation on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, WI from 3:30 - 5 pm.

Interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
