In Memory of Darryl D. Dagestad

July 23, 1946 - February 17, 2026

Darryl Dee Dagestad, a man known for his friendly demeanor, kind spirit, and humorous nature, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on July 23, 1946, in Albert Lea, Darryl's journey through life was as vast and adventurous as the miles he covered as a proud truck driver. He left this world in Eureka Center, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.

Darryl was the beloved husband of June, with whom he shared not only a deep love but also the joy of raising their sons, Jeremy (married to Tiff) and Josh. A devoted father, he also cherished his two children from previous marriages, daughter Michelle (married to Bob) and son Sean (married to Kelly). His legacy continues through his 12 adoring grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. Preceding him in death were his parents, Helen and Palmer, his brother Randy, and his granddaughter Hayden, all of whom he held dear to his heart.

Throughout his life, Darryl's passion for the open road was undeniable. With millions of miles under his belt, he was not only a dedicated truck driver but also a friend to many within the transportation community. His work was more than a job; it was a testament to his love for travel, his commitment to hard work, and his ability to form lasting friendships wherever his journeys took him. When not behind the wheel, Darryl found pleasure in life's simpler joys. He was an avid participant in the thrill of gambling, the excitement of auctions, and most importantly, the countless cherished moments spent with his grandchildren.

Each of these pursuits was an avenue for Darryl to express his vivacious personality and his zest for life. Darryl's presence was a gift to all who knew him. His ability to light up a room with his humor, extend a hand in friendship, and offer kindness without expectation will be deeply missed. The memories he created and the love he shared will continue to resonate with his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to cross paths with him.

As we say goodbye to Darryl Dee Dagestad, let's remember the miles he traveled, the lives he touched, and the joy he spread. His journey on Earth may have ended, but the stories, the smiles, and the love he shared will ride on forever in the fast lane of our memories.

Keep on truckin', Darryl, until we meet again at that great truck stop in the sky.

A Celebration of Life is pending for Spring/Summer 2026.
