In Memory of Darryl I. Hanson


March 14, 1947 - January 4, 2023

Darryl I. Hanson, age 75, of Prairie Farm, died Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 at his home.

He was born March 14th, 1947 to Irwin and Mabel (Norberg) Hanson in Barron.

Darryl was baptized into the Christian faith on May 11th, 1947 and confirmed his faith on May 31st, 1961 at the United Lutheran Church. He graduated from Prairie Farm High School on May 21st, 1965. He then attended Eau Claire Vocational, Technical and Adult School graduating with a two-year degree in Business Administration-Accounting on June 1st, 1967.

Darryl then became employed at National Presto Industries, Inc. located in Eau Claire, for a segment of time as one of the office personnel. Eventually he became an employee of Menards in Eau Claire.

He was a devoted son, and valued family and friends which was recognizable through his visits. In March of 2012, he was recognized with the Random Acts of Kindness award in Prairie Farm. Darryl was nominated for the award because he was always willing to help his neighbors. Darryl’s additional interests included motorcycling, working with electronics, photography, enjoying music, and traveling.

Darryl was preceded in death by his parents and one cousin.

He is survived by cousins: Roger (JoAnn) Norberg, Wayne (Sue) Norberg, Gordon & Brenda (Norberg) Scheil all of Prairie Farm; Harold & Debra (Hanson) Bann of Chetek, Bob (Cathy) Hanson Jr. of Muscatine, Iowa; Barry Hanson of Eau Claire, Jerry and Sandra (Hanson) Lowry of Eau Claire, Barbara (Hanson) Truckenbrod of Surprise, Arizona; David & Shari (Hanson) Biskey of Eau Claire, Allen & Linda (Hanson) Hoepner of Hayward, Claudia (Hanson) Martin of Hayward; along with several other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm with Pastor Sara Feld officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery in the Town of Prairie Farm.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
