
In Memory of David A. Moe
David Arthur Moe, age 73, passed away on September 17, 2025 at his home in Hayward, WI. He was born on November 3, 1951 in La Crosse, WI, the son of Arthur and Leatrice (Grokowsky) Moe. When Dave was 10 years old, the family moved to the Hayward area, residing on Whitefish Lake. At Whitefish Lake he grew up loving the outdoors, fishing and exploring all the bays in a rowboat.
He was united in marriage to Kathleen Mary Rogers on September 17, 1983 at the Congregational Church in Hayward.
A 1969 Hayward High School graduate, David, studied at Wisconsin Technical College, Wausau. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Gray, a frigate serving the Surface Force of the United States Pacific Fleet. While in the Navy on various ships he crossed the Equator 6 times. Having established a foundation for computer and electronics he went on to work in IT for several different businesses. David also enjoyed fixing things, restoring old equipment, and was an avid outdoorsman especially fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Kathleen Moe of Hayward; his daughters, Danielle (Dustin) Danford of Spooner, WI and Karielle Moe of Longmont, CO; his granddaughter, Ellavin; sisters, Dayna (Don) Deutsch and Kristin (Jim) Skorczewski; and brother-in-law Bruce Wick.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Wick.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Hayward Veterans Center.
