In Memory of David "Duffy" W. Anderson


September 16, 1939 - April 8, 2026

David “Duffy” Anderson, age 86, of Barron passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 8, 2026.

He was born September 16, 1939 to Walter and Isla (Ikola) Anderson of Arland Township. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church of Arland, also known as the Finn church. He attended Columbus country grade school, where he acquired his nickname of "Duffy" in the first grade, which lasted his lifetime. He graduated from Barron High School in 1958. After graduation, he moved to the Twin Cities. While there, he met his future wonderful wife, Janee. They were married December 2, 1961 at Pine City, Minnesota.

He was drafted into the Army in 1963. Upon discharge, they returned to the Twin Cities. After several more years there, they decided to return to Barron. He started an excavation business that ran for about 10 years. He then began working for Koser Poweram of Barron, as a traveling salesman selling underground boring machines. Starting in the 1990's, he started his own business, Duffy's Sales, selling ASV Posi-Tracks from his home location. He then expanded by building the business location on the east side of Barron. He retired in 2007.

Duffy developed his love of golf in his 60's and had many fun times and trips with his golfing buddies. He was a devoted very active member of Salem Lutheran Church. Throughout his lifetime, he always enjoyed people very much. You always knew he was there, when you heard is special, distinctive laugh.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly; grandson, Jacob Klug; sister, Betty Blanch; sister-in-law, Marie Anderson; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Isla Anderson; wife, Janee; infant son, Scott; brothers, Wallace and Robert; sister, Shirley (Bob) Blum; and brother-in-law, Roger Blanch.

A funeral service for Duffy will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Barron. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday morning. Burial will be at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
