David J. LaLiberty, age 73, of Barron, passed away June 2, 2026 at his home.

David was a lifelong resident of Barron. He was born March 31, 1953 in Barron to Lloyd and Majorie (Siewert) LaLiberty. He married his high school sweetheart - Sandra K. Godown on March 31, 1973 at First Lutheran Church in Barron. She preceded him in death on August 7, 2005.

In his younger years, David enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was often in his garage working on cars. He also enjoyed watching dirt track races and was a competitive drag racer in his youth. In retirement, he enjoyed his daily visits with all of his friends at Seasons Café. He enjoyed hearing of his grandchildren’s activities and sharing those with his friends at the café.

Dave was a kind, unassuming man who enjoyed simple quiet visits with friends and family. All he ever needed was a Pepsi, Snickers, and some “good Kwik Trip chicken”.

Surviving are his sons, Aaron (Melissa) of New Richmond, Matt (Alesha) of Barron; a daughter, Sarah (Kurt) Lodl of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Brock, Avalyn, Austin, Ashley, Owen, Emmett, Ivy and Aubrey; three great-grandchildren; brother, Randy (LuAnn) LaLiberty of Cameron; many nieces and nephews; along with many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Roger; sister, Sandra; and a nephew, Jason Deraitus.

David’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the friends, family and hospice caregivers that came to help in David’s final weeks.

As per David’s wishes, no funeral will take place. A private burial will take place at a later date.
