In Memory of David J. Thunder


April 29, 1989 - December 15, 2022

David Julian Thunder, age 33, of Lac Courte Oreilles, walked on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

David was born in Minneapolis, MN to David Thunder and Lynne Aasen. He attended school at Iron Dale High School and Hayward High School and went on to college at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. David loved to spend his time with his sons Avery and Alexavier. He was the best father and loved his children so much, he truly cherished his children.

David loved to create music and was very good at it, as he had a natural talent and used his word to express himself through his music. He was a very caring person, always sharing whatever he had and enjoyed making people laugh with his quirky sense of humor.

He is survived by his sons Alexavier and Avery Thunder; his father David (Amy Quaderer) Thunder; mother Lynne (Raul Sacta) Aasen; sister Susan Thunder; step-sister’s Dominique and Demitri Quaderer; brothers Jory and Jasper Thunder; special brothers John Phoumivong, Songsavanh Phoumivong, Narong Phoumivong, Noy Phoumivong and Hunter Teal; grandfather Kurtis Aasen; grandmothers Janet Thunder and Susan Aasen; aunts Nancy White Rean, Hope Thunder and Julie Aasen; great aunt Gloria Jean LaMorie; adopted aunts Kim Ellis, Jaquelin Gravening, Laura Connors, Melissa Melius, Denise Vallasco; and cousins Rebecca Fairbanks, Emiliano White Thunder, Naylah White, Orrin Reyes, Malia Hill, Daniel Lamorezux-Enno, Maggie LaMorie, Rosa LaMorie and many more.

David was preceded in death by his great grandmother Mary Jane Wilson; grandfather David Wilson; great grandmothers Nancy Matthews Mary LaMorie Corbine; great grandfathers David Corbine and Maynard Quaderer.

Tribal Funeral Rites were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2022, at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward. Kellar officiated. Burial was in Historyland Cemetery. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Terence LaMorie, Corey Reed Eagle, Patrick Shumate, Stephen LaMorie, Danny Corbine and Daniel Lamoreaux-Enno.
