In Memory of David L. Broome
David Lee Broome, age 70, of Cumberland passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at his home. He was born August 6, 1955 in Cumberland, WI to Eugene and Alva "Mae" (Getz) Broome.
Dave was a graduate of Barron High School in the Class of 1974. Growing up, David worked as a farmhand for many families, as well as at the recycling center in St. Croix Falls, Stokely's in Cumberland, Crotteau Furs, and possibly his favorite, Colonial Craft out of Luck - and if David were still here, he could tell you the exact dates of his employment for each job!
He loved to watch The Wheel of Fortune, Judge Judy, and I Dream of Jeannie, and would often hang up mid phone call if you were on the line with him as one of his shows was about to begin. Additionally, he had a passion for collecting agates, doing puzzles, pulling pranks, and of course - all things Elvis.
Dave enjoyed the simple things in life, was very content, and quick to thank others for spending their time with him.
He is survived by siblings, Audrey (Robson) Javener, Mary (Gerald) Townsend, and Don (Velma) Broome; sister-in-law, Linda Lindemann; and many nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mae Broome; brothers, Larry Broome and Daniel "Art" Lindemann; and sisters, Barbara and Janet Broome.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 11:00 AM at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland. Interment Lakeside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, June 26, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
