David Edward Romportl, 58, of Haugen died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his home. He was born October 9, 1960, in Rice Lake to Edward "Rompy" and Martha (Paulus) Romportl, was raised in Haugen and graduated from Rice Lake High School.  David has worked for many years at Ventures Unlimited, and was named employee of the year for 2016 and several times employee of the month. He enjoyed woodworking, boating and hunting, but had a real passion for both summer and ice fishing. 

He is survived by his siblings: Joann Offord of New Richmond, Betty Rogers (Jerry Kubista) of Sarona, Peggy (Wencl) Mancl of Rice Lake, Cindy (Larry) Snowbank of Cumberland, Bernice (John) Holec of Rice Lake, Diane (Terry) Davis of Springbrook and Ed (Debbie) Romportl of Haugen; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; his caregivers, Andy Schultz and the staff at Dago Springs AFH. David was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin sisters Charlotte Jane and Carol Jean.

A scripture service will be held Friday evening at 6:30 at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland following the visitation from 4:00 to 6:30. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Haugen.
