David W. Bistram, age 61, a loving husband, father and grandfather  passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

David was born on July 31, 1962 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota to Kenneth, Sr. and Diane Bistram but spent most of his life residing in Grantsburg, Wisconsin.

He started working as a material handler and worked his way into a career as a plant manager. He was a kind loving man, a gift giver and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter. He liked to be outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening and throwing horseshoes at the family land nicknamed “Bistramville.”

David had a stroke in 2008 but continued to work on his speech to be able to communicate with his friends and family and found ways to modify everyday items to keep his independence.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth, Sr. and Diane Bistram.

He is survived by his son, Joshua (Emma) Bistram; granddaughter, Arianna Eckert; his former wife, Mary C. Bistram who remained the love of his life; his siblings, Kenneth (Penny) Bistram, Shari (Scott) Harter, Chuck (Pam) Bistram and Brian (Beth) Bistram; his beloved cat, Bookie; along with 16 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Grantsburg. There will be a celebration of life following the visitation at Hummers Rendevous Event Center in Grantsburg.
