Della Elizabeth (Lohmeier) Olson, age 92 of Eden Prairie, MN, formerly of Danbury, WI, and Bloomington, MN, died on August 15, 2025. Della was born on September 1, 1932, in Pocatello, ID, to Lawrence and LaVaun (Parker) Lohmeier. Della grew up in Lincoln, NE, where she attended business college. While living in Lincoln, Della met Edwin Dale Olson, and on July 14, 1956, they were joined in marriage. During their retirement, Della and Dale split their time between their homes in Wisconsin and Texas.

During their marriage, Della worked part-time at Dayton's and then at an insurance company. Della was very active in her church and taught CCD. More recently, she has enjoyed her friendships in Texas and at Prairie Buffs, playing numerous card games.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, Lawrence Lohmeier; sister, Mary and her husband Gary Barrett; sister-in-law Twilla and her husband Walter Gardner; and great-grandsons John Leyva Jr and Daniel Leyva.

Della is survived by her brothers, Ken Lohmeier and Joe Lohmeier; daughters, Mary (Bob) Casper, Kathie (Jim) DeTour, Cindy (Doug) Hayden; son, Mark (Renee) Olson; grandchildren Stacy Leyva, Bryan (Lauren) Casper, Nicole Casper, Danielle (Kyle) DeTour-Bishop, Jaime (Jake) Mastera, Adam Hayden (Betsy), Brandon (Brittany) Hayden, Tena Peterson, Nichole (Tony) Haan, Bryan Walstead, and Riley (Ashley) Olson. Della has 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and many friends.

Memorial service will be held on August 26, 2025, at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, MN 55347 at 11:00 am with Visitation service starting prior at 10:00 am. A luncheon to follow.

A graveside committal will be held on September 23, 2025 at 9:15 am at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
