In Memory of Delores J. Larsen
Dee was born on February 21, 1931 and passed away on May 26, 2026 at the age of 95. She was born in Frederic, WI to Roy and Matie Johnson and grew up in the small town of Clam Falls. She went to school in Frederic, WI where she graduated from high school in 1949.
Dee married Robert “Bob” Larsen and they celebrated 72 years of marriage together. They had two children, Terry and Lori. Early in their marriage they lived on the farm in Clam Falls and Bob ran a milk route. Later they moved to Luck, WI where Bob sold cars for Nielsen Motors. In 1960, they moved to Grantsburg, WI where they were owners of S+L Chevrolet. Delores worked as a bookkeeper for the business and was a key part of the success. She kept everyone in line and always loved a fast-driving car!
Dee was involved in several community activities and in Faith Lutheran Church of Grantsburg for many years. She loved doing ceramics, reading and truly loved animals of all kinds. Dee made friends easily and when you were her friend, you knew you had better have an hour to spare when she called on the phone.
Bob and Dee were fortunate to be able to travel to many places and especially loved their trips to Norway, Hawaii and Alaska. Later in life, they became “snowbirds” and wintered in Donna, TX. Bob and Dee moved to Osceola, WI in the early 1990’s where they made many wonderful friends and were part of Peace Lutheran Church in Dresser, WI. After Bob passed, a highlight for Dee was going up to the dealership in Frederic, WI to visit her son Terry where she had many friends at the dealership. Family was of greatest importance to Dee, and she absolutely loved spending time with her great grandchildren.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, her daughter Lori (Jack) Cullen, and two sisters-in-law Nancy (Bruce) Kreutzian and Shirley Kongshaug. She is survived by her son Terry (Brenda), son-in-law Jack Cullen, granddaughter Siiri (Xavier) Foeller, step grandchildren Stefanie (Will Lee) Janssen, Justin (Eja) Coveau, great grandchildren Saylor and Colt, and step great grandchildren Hannah, Brooklynn, Maeve, and Luca. She is also survived by her beloved Ragdoll cat Suzy.
Dee leaves behind a village of wonderful friends, neighbors and church family, many of whom helped care for her for the past few years. Thank you to Moments Hospice, Christian Community Home, Rushseba Assisted Living and Memory Care and St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful, loving care you provided.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church in Dresser with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Frederic.
