In Memory of Dennis R. Dollhopf

October 10, 1957 - September 11, 2025

Dennis Ray Dollhopf, age 67, of Hayward, WI, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 11, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Dennis was born October 10, 1957, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Gilbert and Leatha Dollhopf, who preceded him in death. He attended Hartland High School and spent his working years as a skilled carpet installer. Dennis was a man of quiet strength, a deep love for the outdoors, and a heart full of warmth for his family and friends. He grew up with a love for nature and simple joys that carried throughout his life. Later, Dennis found his calling with the Lakes Association after moving to the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) community, where he was employed as a Boat Monitor; LCO was the place he truly called home. Fishing on the lake, making dreamcatchers and other crafts, watching Gunsmoke, and spending time with family and friends at LCO brought Dennis his greatest joys. His loyal dog, Mattie, was never far from his side. Dennis met his beloved Significant Other, Terri Kaye Miller, through her cherished Uncle Stuart, who was Dennis’ best friend. Together, Dennis and Terri shared a life full of laughter, family gatherings, and love.

He is survived by Terri, her siblings Susie, Tina, and Frank; his sisters Diana Rea, Debra Rupnow, & Doreen Irvine; his brothers Ed Dollhopf, Timmy Dollhopf & Terry Dollhopf; his children Dustin and Jessica; as well as two stepchildren, Jacob and Kaylee, their six children; and special Nephew/Friend Jacob Isham. Dennis also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who will miss his presence, his kind nature, his humor, and his caring heart.

Dennis was preceded by his parents Gilbert & Leatha; brother Ronald Dollhopf; and sisters Denise Dollhopf & Donna Meyer.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Dennis and Terri’s home, where friends and family will gather to share memories and honor and celebrate the life of our beloved Dennis Ray Dollhopf.

Dennis’s legacy is one of compassion, hard work, and a deep connection to the people, animals, and wilderness around him. He will be missed dearly but remembered always by those who knew and loved him.
