In Memory of Dennis Sigsworth


January 20, 1960 - August 31, 2021

Dennis Sigsworth, age 61 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away Tuesday, August 31st 2021 at Amery Hospital and Clinic after a brave battle with lung cancer.

Dennis was born January 20, 1960 in Amery, WI, and was the seventh child of Lawrence and Mary (McKnite) Sigsworth.

Dennis was raised on the family homestead and attended Amery Schools. After high school Dennis went on to become a cheesemaker, first in Wanderoos, WI and later in Comstock, WI at the former Blasers cheese factory. He then became a CNC machinist at Borg Precision in Clayton, WI. Dennis had always loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman, a passion he passed on to his children. He enjoyed family camping trips in the summer. Dennis also liked to spend time at the casino in Turtle Lake, whether he was playing the machines or indulging in crab legs at the buffet. He often spent time watching his favorite old television shows, westerns, and rarely missed a Green Bay Packers game. Dennis loved to visit family, even near the end of his illness, and he adored being ‘Pepaw’ to his grandson, Owen.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Mary Sigsworth, sister Shirley Gustafson, and brothers Laurence Sigsworth Jr. and James Sigsworth.

Dennis is survived by his wife Missy Sigsworth (Johnson) of Amery, former spouse, Donna (Brian Haas) Sigsworth, of Balsam Lake, son Darren Sigsworth of Centuria, daughters Danielle Fernholz (Maier) of Alma and Deven (Scott) Bogstad and grandson Owen Hurt of Eau Claire, brothers Charles (Kay) Sigsworth of Amery, Danny (Elaine) Sigsworth of Amery, Rick Sigsworth of Amery, sister Julie (Mark) Luchsinger of Hudson, sister-in-law Karen Sigsworth of Amery, and step-children Lynnea Sprester and Jordan Johnson both of Amery.

Dennis also had many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of a formal gathering, as per Dennis’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 18th, 2021 at DD Kennedy Park in Amery, WI from 1-5PM.
