In Memory of Diane Schroeder


September 27, 1951 - November 10, 2021

Diane Mary Schroeder, 70, passed suddenly on November 10, 2021 at the Osceola Medical Center in Osceola, Wisconsin.

Diane was born September 27, 1951 in Mankato, MN to Harry and Mary Schroeder and graduated from Wellcome Memorial High School in Garden City, MN in 1970.

Diane graduated from Red Wing School of Nursing August 4, 1971 and started working at Fairview Southdale Hospital on the Oncology floor. She worked at a number of additional hospitals including Owatonna City Hospital, Las Vegas Hospital, St. Croix Hospital, and landed in Luck, Wisconsin at the United Pioneer Nursing Home in Medical Records. She devoted 33 years of her life to the nursing home and retired November 16, 2019. Over the years Diane developed a very close bond to her co-workers and they became her extended family which she loved dearly.

Diane married Bruce Coen July 20, 1985 and helped raise his two children, Russ and Wendy and his grandchild, Lane Coen on a small farm in Luck, Wisconsin. In later years she also was a caregiver to Robert, Kyle and Evelyn which were her former husband’s grandchildren.

Diane is survived by her brother, Robert Schroeder (Judy); sister, Joann Bigaouette (Kevin); niece and nephew, Lisa Sarazin and Paul Schroeder; nephew and nieces, Rob Schroeder (Michele), Julie Linder, Shari Husted (Ken).

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Schroeder and her brother, Marvin Schroeder.  

Although Diane was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2021, she continued to live her life to the fullest as the doctors would allow and always remained positive. Her best friend from nurses training, Peggy Lawrence described her as lively little filly living life to the fullest. Diane was an angel on earth, a caring confidant and best friend. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and extended family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home in Luck and the Northwest Wisconsin Cremation Center in Milltown.
