On April 20th, 1974, she was married to Robert Croes at Immanuel Lutheran church in rural Clayton, WI. Together they made their home in Clear Lake and raised 2 sons, Troy & Darren. When Dixie wasn’t taking care of her family, she worked at MW Vet Supply in Clear Lake for many years and retired from there when Bob retired. Dixie had many talents, especially singing, whether by herself or amongst friends. She was the lead singer of a popular local band called the Common People along with her brothers Mike, Rick & their friend Dewey Fansler. Dixie also enjoyed knitting, sewing, canning pickles, making meals for her friends and family and most of all, baking of all kinds, from cookies to her homemade bread that Bob loved. She enjoyed camping trips, garage sales and spending time with her best friend Eva Wilson. Dixie was also a very active and faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake.
