In Memory of Dolores “Dee” Campeau

December 22, 1945 - June 8, 2025

Dolores “Dee” Campeau, age 79, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. Born on December 22, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the beloved daughter of Viola (nee Smith) and Sylvester Hanson. Dee was the eldest of nine siblings, a role she embraced with love, strength, and a deep sense of responsibility.

A proud graduate of Stillwater High School, Class of 1963, Dee went on to build a meaningful and steady career. She worked across several organizations, including nearly three decades at UFE, as well as time with 3M and Indianhead Credit Union, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Dee was a devoted mother to her three children: Dennis (Barb) Johnson, Colleen (Greg) Cook, and Scott (Stacey) Johnson. Family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride and joy in the time spent with them.

She was a loving grandmother to Beth Johnson, Nicki (Andrew) Anderson, Carrie (Luke) McDermott, Branden Bottolfson, Samantha Johnson and Savannah (Justin) Modeen. Dee was also a proud great-grandmother to Josh, Jake, Bradley, Jaxson, Brianna, James, Dylan, Daxton, Ashlynn, and Brooks; and great-great-grandmother to Violet.

From joyful Christmas gatherings filled with warmth and laughter, to hosting annual canoe trips and camping weeks for family and friends, Dee created cherished traditions and memories that will live on for generations. She also treasured time with her sisters and enjoyed many memorable “sisters weekends” together – both in Minnesota and on trips to Florida – sharing laughter, love and lifelong bonds.

Dee had a deep love for Christmas music, which filled her home during the holiday season and added to the magic of the celebrations she so loved. She was also an enthusiastic NASCAR fan who rarely missed a race and loved cheering on her favorite drivers.

Dee is survived by Lee Johnson, the father of her children; and by Ron Campeau. She is also survived by her siblings: Dale (Sue) Hanson, Linda (Craig) McKeever, Cindy (Dan) Stevensen, Bruce Hanson, Julie (Scott) Grunwald, Bernie (Debbie) Hanson, and Nancy (Russ) Johnston; her sister-in-law Carol Hanson; her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Sylvester Hanson; her brother, Irv Hanson; her granddaughter, Jayme Leigh Bottolfson; her grandson, Travis Bottolfson; and her great-great-grandson, Rowan. Dee will be remember for her deep love of family, her quick wit, and her gift of bringing people together. Her legacy of resilience and connection lives on in all who knew and loved her.

Evening visitation for Dee will take place Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 4:00PM – 7:00 PM at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola, Wisconsin.
