In Memory of Donald Stariha
Donald Anthony "Don" Stariha, 81, of Shell Lake died Saturday, November 23, 2019, at his home. He was born February 20, 1938, in Shell Lake to Adolf and Violet (Thibedeau) Stariha. Don graduated in 1957 from the Shell Lake High School. Soon after graduating, he began working at Peterson Boat Factory until he retired.
Don had a passion for music, playing rhythm guitar in several bands, and playing at local nursing homes. He loved his motorcycles and was a member of the North Country Riders. Don could often be found on Shell Lake fishing with his best friend, Jake the dog. Don enjoyed every moment he spent with his family. He was a fan of the Packers, but only when they were winning.
He is survived by his children: Tim Stariha of Ogilvie, MN, Tony Stariha of Shell Lake, WI, Steven (Shellie) Stariha of Trego, WI; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Martin; nieces, nephews; and many other family and friends. Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Stariha; parents, Adolf Stariha and Violet Krakau; siblings: Gerald Stariha, Delores Mulry; and infant sister, Carol Ann.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 2, 2019, at Shell Lake Full Gospel with Pastor Virgil Amundson officiating. Burial will be in Shell Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tony Martin, Andy Martin, Matt Martin, Mike Martin, Harry Hughes, and Leroy Butterfield. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM on the day of the service.
