In Memory of Donna J. Parker
Donna Jean Parker, 89, of Shell Lake passed peacefully surrounded by her family on December 21, 2024, at Dove Healthcare. She was born December 16, 1935, in Iowa City, IA to Roy and Hazel (Wilkinson) Stockburger.
Donna moved from Estherville, IA to Shell Lake in 1948. She was married in Rice Lake, WI on December 19, 1953, to Dean Parker who preceded her in death on February 13, 1996. She operated her own daycare for 20 years, then was the head cook at TLC for 22 years.
Donna loved knitting afghans, sewing, gardening and canning, producing over 100 quarts of tomatoes. Most importantly she deeply loved her family. Donna truly enjoyed mowing her 2 acre lawn and going to dinner with the golden girls.
She is survived by her three sons, Jeff (Pati) Parker, Mark (Joni) Parker, and Monty (Janice) Parker, all of Shell Lake; daughter, Shelly (Kevin) Wear of Spooner; seven grandchildren: Tiffany, Jennifer, Brandon, Ashley, Sarah, Matthew, Caleb, Katie and Curtis; 16 great grandchildren: Marcus, Rayna, Tayla, Hunter, Blake, Lily, Audrey, Emmett, Marian, Brant, Robert, William, Hannah, Hazel, Vivienne, and one more on the way; and many other family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by husband, two brothers: Don and Richard; two sisters: Judith Campbell and Evelyn Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 27, 2024, at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Dr. Cathy Reuter officiating. A private burial will be in Shell Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brandon Parker, Matt Parker, Caleb Parker, Curtis Parker, Marcus Esters, and Adam Lundberg. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
