In Memory of Eileen A. Krekula

January 3, 1950 - September 4, 2024

Eileen Anita Krekula, 74, of Cumberland went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 4, 2024. She was born January 3, 1950, in Strum, WI to Glorence and Mildred (Balts) Christianson. She was married on November 14, 1970 to Erwin “Lynn” Krekula who preceded her in death on May 15, 2022. We're sure Erwin met her with open arms and whispered in her ear "Wait until you see the ketchup packets here!"

Anybody that knew Eileen knew she had a heart of gold and loved the Lord. She always was eager to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. It would then be followed by a biblical verse that would fit the situation perfectly.

Her passion for playing the piano was unmatched and her vocals accompanied what she was playing. We're so greatful she passed these traits down to her kids and grandkids. Her grandkids will miss spending countless hours with her. Several times she would call and ask when they were coming over because she missed them.

We will also miss her cooking. After years of perfecting her craft in restaurants, she carried on those skills at home. Eileen was able to make a meal out of just about anything, and make it stretch to feed everybody, no matter how meek the portions appeared. "The Lord will always provide," she would say. While we will all miss her, we know Eileen is now pain free and catching up with her beloved Erwin, rejoicing and singing songs of praise for the Lord.

She is survived by her children: Jason Krekula, Nathan (Dawna) Krekula, Melinda (Rick) Wiik, Jeremy (Sara) Krekula, and Julie (Rob) Erickson; twenty-two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and many other friends and family. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Skinner Funeral Home - Cumberland. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM.

Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland is serving the family.
