
In Memory of Elaine A. Schieffer
Elaine Ann Schieffer, age 98, of Rice Lake, WI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 18, 2025 in Rice Lake. She was born on September 22, 1927 in Rice Lake to George and Albina (Schleiss) Havel.
Elaine attended Rice Lake High School and was married to Milo Schieffer on December 26, 1944. Her life was devoted to her family and her volunteer work.
Elaine was an avid volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie. She was a PAX Christi recipient for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was the Catholic Order of Foresters Fraternalist of the Year in 2003. She went to Miharu Japan, a sister City of Rice Lake on the RLIFA program where Milo was the contractor of the building of the American Bed and Breakfast and while she was there she taught the women on how to quilt, cook and other American ways.
She is survived by 6 children, Karen (Larry) Anderson, Gary (Sue) Schieffer, Sandra (Donald) Robarge, Cheryl (Mike) Tomesh, Michele (Mike) Willkom and Denise (Chris) Maresca; a daughter-in-law, Jane Schieffer; 22 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milo Schieffer; 2 sons, Craig Schieffer and Roy Schieffer; a grandson, Craig Tomesh; her parents, George and Albina Havel; and a brother, Melvin Havel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Monday, November 3, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father Adam Laski officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Marshfield Medical Center Hospice in Rice Lake or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI.
