Elaine Gendina Yndestad Age 102, of Birchwood, WI, died Wednesday, March 15, 2022 in Spooner, WI.

She was born on July 20, 1919 in Cameron, WI to Gustavus and Ella (Lee) Boortz.

Elaine was married to Douglas Yndestad on May 10, 1941 in Center City, MN. They farmed in Prairie Farm for many years. After retirement in 1968 they moved to Rice Lake and then to Birchwood in 1970. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood, Birchwood Senior Citizens Center and WLACA at Trinity Lutheran. She is survived by a son, David Yndestad (Nancy Jowers); many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Yndestad; a son, Truman Yndestad; 4 sisters, Laura Gould, Norene Solum, Inza May Manke and Beatrice Franchi; 5 brothers, Ernest, Neil, Floyd, Glenn and Merlin Boortz.

Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Monday, March 21, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood, WI, Rev. Dan Tabor officiating, with interment in Sunset Cemetery in Prairie Farm, WI.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is handling the services.
