Elsie Marie (Kaiser) Melton, age 86, passed away August 16th, 2022 at Country Terrace Vita Care with her daughter and granddaughter by her side from complications of COVID-19 strong in her faith.

She was a lifelong resident of Washburn County, born June 24th, 1936 at the farm and resort of Fred and Martha Burmeister (Sprague) in Casey Township to Arthur and Clara Kaiser (Burmeister).

She graduated in 1955 in Spooner, worked at her parent’s restaurant and married George in 1957.  While raising her two children she volunteered and was president of the Spooner Hospital Auxiliary and was a proud member of the Evergreen Homemakers. She worked at the Information Booth and for Economart at cookouts and demos.

Elsie loved bowling, hosting family holiday dinners, gardening, canning, pontooning, crafting, wintering in Arizona and was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Elsie is survived by her daughter Barbara (Jon) Metling of Evergreen Township and granddaughters Jennifer (Edward) of Bloomington, MN and Nicole of Tucson, AZ and her son Jay (Debra) Melton of Stacy, MN and 5 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren, her brothers: Artie (Darlene) of Boney Lake, WA, Gary (Glenda) of Springbrook, WI and Nick (Shirley) of Menomonie, WI, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will remember her laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Clara Kaiser and husband George Melton.

Elsie has been interred at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery where all are welcome to stop by and say hi.
