March 13, 1935 - September 16, 2017

Elsie Minerva (Lawrence) Usselman, age 82, of Spooner passed away at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner, WI on September 16, 2017.

Elsie was born on March 13, 1935, to parents Samuel and Ethel (Bates) Swonger in the Town of Casey, Washburn County, Wisconsin.  She grew up in the area and returned to own and operate Ponderosa Bar on Lower McKenzie Lake for over 30 years.  Elsie enjoyed making exotic jewelry and bartender aprons, crocheting, fishing, and traveling to Canada for fishing.

Elsie is survived by her children Gary “Mike” (Cindy) Lawrence, Sue Lindenfelser, Norman (Deb) Lawrence, and Linda Daniels; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene Lawrence, stepson Terry Lawrence, grandson Keith Lawrence, adopted son James Lawrence, sister Ethel, and brother Bill.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Spooner Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Spooner Funeral Home at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in the Spooner Cemetery.
