Eugene H. “Buzz” Olson, age 87, of Barron & formerly of Prairie Farm, WI died Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at Monroe Manor in Barron.

He was born May 24th, 1937 to Otto & Matilda (Johansen) Olson in the Town of Sheridan, Dunn County, WI. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in the Town of Sheridan & confirmed at Ridgeland Lutheran Church. He graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1955 & went on to serve in the US Army from 1955-1958. On November 1st, 1958, he was married to Patricia Lorraine Teigen at Emmanuel Evangelical Brethren Church in Prairie Farm.

Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Pat on July 4th, 2023, granddaughter: Amy Lynn Olson, brother: August “Sonny” (Katie) Olson, sisters: Muriel (Norman) Tennermann & Eunice (Herb) Beiswanger & sister-in-law: Rita (Gerald) Warling. He is survived by his daughters: Lynnea (Dale) Soderberg of Prairie Farm & Tracey Olson (Kevin Schoonover) of Cottage Grove, MN, son: Eugene Herbert Olson, Jr. of Nokesville, VA, grandchildren: Abby Soderberg (Ben Freund) of Coon Rapids, MN & Grant Schoonover of Cottage Grove, MN, brother & sister-in-law: Ted (Carol) Teigen of Prairie Farm, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24th at First Lutheran Church in Barron with Rev. Ron Mathews officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow the luncheon at Zion-Sheridan Cemetery in the Town of Sheridan, rural Ridgeland, WI.
