With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Evelyn Marie Melton, age 93, who went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Saturday night, August 23, 2025.

Evelyn was the heart of our family—a woman of strength, kindness, and quiet grace. Her love was felt in her gentle words, her warm smile, and the way she always put family first. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and unconditional love that will live on through all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Kent Melton, Lois Person (Robert), Cindy Moore (Kenneth), Barbara Melton, Beverly Melton, and son-in-law Evangelos Markadonis. She will also be lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Evelyn was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents, William and Viona Micken; her husband, Edward A. Melton; her children, Donna Lynn Markadonis, Alan Jay Melton, Stanley Carl Melton, and Patti Jo Melton; and her granddaughter, Kari Lynn Hanson.

Though our hearts ache with her loss, we rejoice in the gift of her life and the love she so freely gave. Her laughter, her stories, and the warmth of her presence will forever be cherished and never forgotten.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00am at Faith Lutheran Church W7148 Luther Road, Spooner, WI. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Spooner Funeral Home 306 Rusk St. Spooner, WI and on Saturday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service.
