
In Memory of Florence I. Gronski
Florence I. Gronski, age 94, of Rice Lake, WI died Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Rice Lake. She was born July 19th, 1930 to Anthony & Rose (Diehn) Skrupky at Pittsville, WI. The family later moved to Cameron where she graduated from Cameron High School. On October 22nd, 1949, she was married to John Gronski at Cameron and they raised 5 children on the family farm where Florence resided until her death. She loved making quilts, baking cookies for her grandkids and tending to her many flower gardens. She was an active member of the ABVM Catholic Church at Strickland and helped with many of the church fundraisers and activities. She loved the Minnesota Twins, Elvis and polka music. She also enjoyed trout fishing and especially salmon fishing up on the Cranberry with her sister, Verna.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband: John, Sr. on February 14th, 1987, son: John Jr., sons-in-law: Roger Erickson & Bradley Linder & siblings: Harry Skrupky, Margaret Frankenberg, Katherine Ajewski, Verna Kisling, Dorothy Hessel, Harriet Dullinger & Caroline Gronski. She is survived by her children: Rose (Larry) Kopras, Mary (Troy) Hom, Laurie Linder & Steve (Heather) Gronski, daughter-in-law: Rita Gronski, grandchildren: Jennifer Kopras, Eric (Marie) Kopras, Melissa (Chad) Weber, Nick (Melissa) Gronski, Samantha Gronski, Janelle Larson, Brian (Cynthia) Erickson, Jack (Lyndsey) Linder, Jeff (Julie) Linder, Madison, Michael & Matthew Gronski, 15 great grandchildren, sister: Barbara Clausen, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9th at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in the Town of Strickland with Fathers Chandra Ery & Adam Laski officiating with interment following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. In accordance with Florence’s wishes, no wake will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the church.
