In Memory of Florence Marlene (Hasbargen) Holte
Florence Marlene (Hasbargen) Holte, age 74 of Pierce, Colorado, passed away peacefully at Amery Memory Care on June 4, 2025 in Amery, Wisconsin surrounded by her family.
Marlene was born on July 24, 1950 to the late Clarence and Florence (Kimball) Hasbargen. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church, Menahga, MN. She attended country school, graduated from Menahga High School, and in 1972 graduated from Bemidji State University (BSU) with her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and minor in Physical Education. It was during this time she met the love of her life, Wayne Holte, whom she married on July 1, 1972.
Marlene and Wayne then moved to Herman, MN where they expanded their family by one and spent 3 additional years growing. In 1975, they moved to Gatzke/Grygla, MN and established a farming life while developing a teaching career. During this time, they grew their family by three, raising their four children on a dairy farm with a wide variety of animals (horses, pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, cattle, dogs, lions, tigers, & bears OH MY). Her working career expanded to Polaris, Ind. with a celebration of retirement in 2015. In 2016, the couple moved to Pierce, CO to live out their retirement. They attended worship services at First Lutheran Church in Ault, CO and so appreciated the church family.
Marlene had a love of horses that touched every aspect of her life and all those around her. One never knew how many horses would come out of the horse trailer when attending shows. She was active in 4-H, within the equine community, and with dog training. This passion continued with the grandchildren and as we speak she is riding her horse in heaven.
She is mourned by her loving and devoted husband Wayne Holte of just over 52 years; her children: Anthony (Stephanie) Holte, Rodrick (Diana) Holte, Christina (Christopher) Hoff, and Martin Holte; her grandchildren: Christoffer Holte, Sara Rowell, Shawnee Sandberg, Annalise Holte, Emma Holte, Avery Holte, Ella Holte, Alexis Hoff, and Cayden Hoff; and her great-grandchildren: Mason Holte, Mylie Holte, Marcus Holte, Kylie Rowell, Rylie Sandberg, and Gordon Sandberg. She is further survived by her siblings, Curtis and Ardis, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Lois, Lorraine, Lucille, Charlie, and Kathy.
The family sends special thanks to Adoray Home Health Hospice & the staff at Riverbend Assisted Living & Amery Memory Care for their kind and compassionate care of Marlene. As well as all the prayers and support received by the Bible family, friends, and extended family.
