In Memory of Fritz Bradenburg


February 11, 1934 - March 30, 2019

Fritz Brandenburg, 85 of Chetek passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his home with his loving family at his side.   Fritz was born on February 11, 1934 in Gorlitz, East Germany near the Polish border.

Fritz came to the U.S. in 1962 at the age of 28.  He lived in Kenosha, Illinois and Missouri and was a member of the MGV Harmonica Club for 40 years and sang with a male chorus for 40 years.  He also played the accordion since the age of 5.  He performed in the United States, Canada, Germany and Austria.  He enjoyed traveling to Alaska, the Yukon Territory, British Columbia and Austria. 

He married his wife Cheryl on December 9, 1988.  They made their home in the Chetek area for many years.  He will be dearly missed.  He was very loved and special to everyone who knew him. 

He leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Cheryl, Chetek, WI; step-children: Sherry Ehnow Rojas, Kenosha, WI; Carol Ehnow-Wright, Kenosha, WI; James P. Ehnow Jr., Jacksonville, FL; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and one on the way, his special little buddy “Smokey”, sister, Louise (Harvey) Jacobson, Kansas City, MO; 2 step brothers from East Germany, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  Fritz joins his mother Elizabeth and father Willie, Cheryl’s mom, Dorothy and 2 grandchildren in Heaven.

There will not be any public services.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
