In Memory of Gary A. Williamson


May 30, 1944 - August 4, 2024

Gary Allen Williamson, 80 of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska died on August 4, 2024 at the Ashland Care Center in Ashland, Nebraska.

Gary was born on May 30, 1944 to Lula (Dinger) Williamson and Walter Williamson in Lisbon, North Dakota. Gary met Eldora Koenig while living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was married to Eldora Mae Koenig at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Almena, Wisconsin on December 6, 1969. The marriage was blessed with two children, Tracie Ellen (Williamson) Creamer, and Adam Walter Williamson. The couple lived in Cumberland, Wisconsin for a short time and then purchased the Williamson home farm in Lisbon, North Dakota, and farmed for 15 years. In 1990, they purchased a home in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska and Gary became a hydraulics engineer. In 2000, they moved to Chaska, Minnesota and upon Eldora’s passing, Gary returned to the house in Nebraska. Gary enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting, and all-around silliness.

Gary is survived by his daughter Tracie Creamer of Elkhorn, Nebraska; granddaughter Tori (Brett) Walker of Elkhorn, Nebraska; granddaughter Jillian Svenningsen of Fremont, Nebraska; grandson Bailyan Williamson, and granddaughters Azlynn, Maryn, Korbyn, and Remingtyn Williamson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; great grandchildren Emery and Elise Walker of Elkhorn, Nebraska; and siblings; Curtis (Artith) Williamson; Clyde (Peggy) Williamson; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Lula; wife Eldora; son Adam; and his siblings Howard Williamson, Ruby (Bob) McRitchie, and Lyle (Rose) Williamson.

Gary will be buried on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 12 noon at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Almena, Wisconsin. A potluck celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church on that day in Almena with additional fellowship to follow at 3 p.m. at Spare Time in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin.
