In Memory of Gary L. Clausen

September 6, 1941 - April 8, 2024

Gary Lynn Clausen, 82, passed away on April 8, 2024, surrounded by his family. Gary was born on September 6, 1941, in River Falls, Wisconsin to Earl and Marie Clausen. The family moved to Milltown, Wisconsin in 1945.

After graduating from Unity High School in 1960, Gary joined the Marine Corps Reserves where he served 12 years. Gary worked for Electronic Services, owned by his Father, from 1960 to 1972. In July of 1972, the company was acquired by Motorola Inc., and Gary continued to work in Milltown until he was transferred to Dallas, Texas in 1982 and worked as a Project Manager until retirement on June 27, 2003.

On September 15, 1962, Gary married his high school sweetheart, Susan (Sue) Rowena Edgell. Together they raised three children - Patti, Lisa and Michael.

Gary’s hobbies included raising cattle and maintaining his farmland in Krum, Texas, as well as fishing, hunting, and traveling. In later years, he enjoyed watching his favorite TV shows like MASH and Gunsmoke.

He had an eye for fashion and loved to make sure he looked his best. Over the years, he developed an impressive sock collection.

Gary’s death is preceded by his parents and his brother, John. He is survived by his loving wife Sue and their children, Patti and husband James Guffy; Lisa and husband Matt Paulzine; Michael Clausen; his sister Gail and husband Wally Losianowycz; his sister Jeanette and husband Michael Rochford; his brother Arlie and wife Gin Clausen; as well as his 12 grandchildren, Molly and husband Brad Bernard; Miranda, Madeline and Gage Guffy; Elizabeth and husband Jack Graham; Lance Roden and wife Madison Robinson; Marisa and Alexa Roden; Jake and wife Maci Clausen; Kayla and husband Tripp Reed; Jason and wife Abbie Clausen; Addison Clausen. He was also especially fond of his great-grandchildren, Lyla Roden, Makenzie Bernard, Allison Clausen, Mark Lance Roden III and Sterling Reed.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on June 21, 2024 at Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, Wisconsin at 10:00 AM. Burial service will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
