Gary W. Zabel, age 65, of Barron, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Gary was born on July 28, 1956 in Rice Lake. He married Cathy Nowak on July 24, 1982 in Rice Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; parents, Herbert and Deloris Zabel of Barron; sisters, Andrea Tabor of Inver Grove Heights, MN and Kristin (Dave) Presuhn of Fridley, MN; brother-in-law, Jeff (Lorie) Nowak of Rice Lake; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service for Gary Zabel will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rice Lake with Rev. Jeffrey Seelow officiating; with a lunch to follow. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
