Genevieve “Jeannie” Bryan, formerly of Milton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, in Wisconsin, where she was being cared for by her eldest son, David “Butchie” Bryan.

Jeannie was the daughter of the late Richard and Agnes Smart. She was the beloved sister of the late Catherine Morris, Mary Fidler, Richard Smart, and Roberta Perkins. She is survived by her siblings Agnes Fletcher, Margaret Harrison, and Peter Smart.

Jeannie is survived by her former husband, David Bryan, with whom she shared many years and raised a family, and her children: David “Butchie” Bryan and his late wife, Rita Bryan; Elizabeth “Betty” Striepling and her husband, Jeff Striepling; and Michael Bryan and his wife, Tamara Bryan. She was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy.

Although Jeannie spent her final days in Wisconsin, her heart remained connected to Massachusetts, the place she called home for so many years. It was there that she built a life filled with family, friendships, and countless memories. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 29 Saint Mary’s Road, Milton, Massachusetts, on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
