In Memory of Gerald (Jerry) L. Boury
Gerald (Jerry) Boury, age 84, of Barron, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, after a very well-lived life.
Jerry was born to Lawrence and Ruth Boury on September 7, 1940. He, along with his three older sisters, Caryl Zimmerman, Karen Schmidt, and Doris Reemts, grew up in his dad’s barbershop in Ridgeland. Jerry graduated from Barron High School in 1958. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1964. He later worked in the feed mill at Jerome Foods until retiring at 71 years old.
Jerry proudly supported those around him, including his family, through acts of service. Throughout his life, Jerry always recognized those around him who treated him well. If Jerry Boury loved you, he made sure you knew it.
Jerry was an avid hunter and always looked forward to deer camp with his buddies. He was also a devoted sports fan. His favorite athletes were his grandchildren. He always wanted to know what their latest times and scores were, even in his final days.
Jerry had many, many great friends in his life. He genuinely cared about everyone he met. Jerry always wanted to know how you were, what was new with your family, and how your job and hobbies were going. He was truly one of the good ones.
Special thanks to Steve Klingelhoets for spending so much time with Jerry, allowing Jerry and Delores to live in their home until last year. The family is grateful for the wonderful care Jerry received from Parkview Nursing Home, St. Croix Hospice, and Korie Lentz.
In lieu of memorials, the family asks you to celebrate Jerry’s life by reaching out to your friends, asking how they are, what they’ve been up to, giving them a hug, and saying I love you.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Delores Boury; four children, Dani (Dave) Langer, Gina Boury, Tara (Greg Rupnow), and Marty (Tessa Boury); three step-children, Scott (Bobbi) Novinski, Stacy (Nikki) Novinski, and Sheila (Jason) Erb; ten grandchildren; as well as his three sisters.
A visitation for Jerry will be held on Friday, May 30 from 2:00 until 4:30 p.m. at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 at the funeral home.
A private interment with military honors will take place at a later date.
