Geraldine “Jerry” Joann Houston Age 87, of Rice Lake, WI, died Sunday, February 23, 2025 at her home. She was born on June 10, 1937 in Barron, WI to Lyle and Alvina (Borowski) Teal.

Jerry graduated from Barron High School in 1955 and was married to Donald Houston on September 8, 1956 in St. Paul, MN. She worked for American Excelsior starting in 1977 and worked until she was 73 years old. She loved Christmas, buying Christmas presents all year long, monthly luncheons with her gals, going shopping every week at Dollar General, writing letters, crossword puzzles, shuffling papers, the kids who stopped by on Halloween and spending family time with her children and grandchildren. Jerry had a heart of gold, a beautiful smile and will be truly missed by all that knew her. Honest to a fault, You never wanted to ask her “does my butt look big in these jeans” if you weren’t prepared for the answer!

She is survived by her daughter, Cherie (Rick) Jenkins; 3 sons, Kenny (Cheri) Houston, Jeff (Missi) Houston and Mike (Aledgra) Houston; 12 grandchildren, Ashley (Vito), Katie (Dustin), Madison (Alex ), Allison, Samantha (Chris), Trevor (Rhianon), Kym (Clint), Sean (Sandra), Derrick (Kelsie), Shawn (Erica), Cody and Tanner (Amy); 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sharon Peery and Dawn (Philip) Primeau; 2 brothers, Harwood (Sue) Teal and Mallard (Deborah) Teal; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Houston; and her parents, Lyle and Alvina Teal. Funeral Service will be held at 12:30PM Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake.

Visitation will be from 11AM-12:30PM Saturday, April 5 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals. A celebration of her life will be held from 1PM-4PM Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Rice Lake Elk’s Lodge.
