Gregory Charles Johnson, age 75, of Chetek, WI passed away peacefully of natural causes Friday, October 10, 2025 at his home. He was born on March 31, 1950 in Rice Lake, WI to George and Maybelle (Johnson) Johnson.

Greg graduated from Chetek High School in 1968 and then attended WITC in Rice Lake and received a certificate in Drafting. He was married to Cheri Busch on August 1, 1970 in Chetek. Greg worked for Johnson Truck Bodies in Rice Lake as a Maintenance Technician and was also a school bus driver for Chetek School District.

Greg was a very kind, patient, giving, compassionate and humble man. He was a very talented singer and loved playing the guitar. He loved wood carving, and putter around the house and yard.

Greg was a jack of all trades. He would help out anyone that was in need. He loved his family and the Lord with all his heart. He was a good and faithful servant.

He is survived by his wife, Cheri Johnson; 3 daughters, Jodi (Rev. Eric) Buhrow, Jami (Matt) Morris and Jesi (Kevin) Fauske; 7 grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) Buhrow, Cali (Ryan) Langendorf, Josiah Morris, Matti Morris, Japheth Morris, Tanner Fauske and Molli Fauske; 2 great grandchildren, Maxwell Buhrow and Elli Langendorf; a sister-in-law, JoyceJohnson; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Maybelle Johnson; a brother, Richard Johnson; a sister, Anita Ehrhard.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Faith Baptist Church in Chetek, WI, Rev. Eric Buhrow officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6PM Thursday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Missions of Immanuel Baptist Church in Rice Lake, WI.
